I use the lines to line up the car the same each time. A little shift will give you totally different results. Some guys will mount a block at the start and push the car against the block to make the start exactly the same each time. That is a good idea..... feel free to edit as you wish.

Depends on wheelbase.... extended with rears 5/8" from back 2.1 is fine.... standard BSA block wheelbase I wouldn't put more than 1.8ish..

I cut it all out and then glue my weight in to stabilize the body, then drill...

Put as many in as you need to so the wheel doesn't hit the body of the car when you push it all the way in.... basically you are rebuilding the inside hub back up to original length.

Don't overthink it... couple drops right where the wheel rides, let the excess fall on the carpet and install the axle into the wheel.

You can run the 2.0's in the normal manner, you just have to use more/thicker spacers like Derbychip said because the hubs are cut short to fit the axles correctly when running backwards.
