How do you add steer to a car if you can not bend the axle?

Our rules state that we can not alter axles outside of polishing them. The back ones I know I am not supposed to bend. I know one of the front ones we will lift. So what do we want to do with the front axle we are supposed to bend? Any and all responses are welcome! Thanks!

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

I just sent the rules. So I just want to be able to guide the scouts as best as possible, and I have looked at 5 kids site and will use a bunch of that, my question was just around weight placement. Yes - I know we want to push the weight placement in the back, but as far as DFW or Centered in...

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

Hey - Guys, It is me again. We are moving along, and I am trying to put together a workshop for the boys for our scout pack and provide some good tips here. Quick question for all here - With the district rules stating that we must have all 4 wheels touching, and put the axles in straight, is...

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

I am sorry - and maybe a little dense (I am fairly new to this as last yr was our first car), but it seems like there is no way i would be able to fit cubes behind the axle. So then that leaves me to creating 1 weight pocket in front of the axle. Then it seems like the center of mass is going...

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

Crash - I understand what you are saying about cutting off the large side of the block and gluing to the other side to push the axle holes close to the back, but with that methodology, I am assuming then we won't weight behind the axle. Using the method you have laid out, would a 3.5 oz...

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

That is indeed the rule. Seems like someone knows all the speed tips and recommendations and wants to try and level the playing field as much as possible.

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

Sorry - see what happens when I try and type while on a work conference call.... I wish i could copy and past the rules, but it is in a PDF. The text is - All 4 wheels must make contact with the track surface. (This is tested by free rolling the car). And this is implied that the full wheel...

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

From what I know - there is NOT a council race. We just go to districts and that is it. I think I am going to push that we adopt district rules. I think it is best practice and should make things interesting although I know things like alignment will be very hard with this set of rules... On...

Advice on Pack Rules for Pinewood Derby

Hey All! My first time post here - but I have been lurking for a while. Let me give a little background. I am on my packs committee, and we are 1 month out from our first pinewood derby planning meeting. Last year we had pretty basic rules, and our pack did not advance anyone to districts...
