    I was building this car for our area and district and pack races. So it requires standard axle location and slots. I went to update the weight location and the block had a failure and the car is trash now. Weights, axles, wheels all salvaged. RIP

    Yes it was a standard 4.375 wheel base. So it was just an experiment. It failed badly but I learned from it.

    Looking to make a wheel turning mandrel

    Using a small collet is an excellent idea. What holder are you using for the ER32 Collet and what lathe do you have? Do you have 3/4 independent jaws chuck to dial it in? Or self centering chuck? From my research and testing a .0985 pin gauge seems to work well for most wheels.

    I did this recently and the car wobbled very badly. Its a bad idea dont do it. If you watch Johns race video of the BASX AM race you will see my failed attempt.
