    Weight Placement

We ended going with this configuration: XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXX (centered) XXXXX (centered) X COG = .57 Showed up and saw we were racing on a homemade wooden track - almost had a heart attack! Car was pretty loose, but it got the job done. Best part was when my son asked if we...

Thanks 5 kids - just burnishing the inside edge of the wheel where it rubs the rail. Definitely not taking it apart!

We won rank and have an hour before finals. For re-prep we are planning: 1. Graphite....not too much 2. Re-burnish inside edge of wheels where they touch rail 2. Clean tread Am I missing anything?

Tuning tonight and we are hearing a weird sound....almost like something is rubbing. DFW doesn't seem to be touching, maybe it is just because it it going so slow. Have you guys heard this sound before? And please, don't be jealous of our high tech tuning setup...

Interesting - didn't think of adding both dominant side wheels and having them match NDRW. Wonder why your cog changed between 1 and 3? Makes sense that the shorter cog would be faster. Big difference with the steer change also. Thanks for testing this out.

Thanks ngyoung - you pretty much nailed it. TBO, I'm not even sure that 12 behind the rear is a good idea with a standard wheelbase. I remember a post, I think from Kinser, that said not to put more than 1.8oz behind the rear axel on a standard wheelbase. This equals 11 instead of 12 cubes...

    Weight Placement

Thanks - think I'm starting to get it. Does this logic make sense? The goal would be to have even weight on the rear wheels while the car is running. As the car is running down the track the DFW will press against the rail causing weight to shift from the non dominant side to the dominant...
