    Slower and slower

    What is the exact wording of your rules regarding axle bend? Does is specifically say "no bent axles" or does it just imply it by saying something like "axles must be installed parallel to track"? Our rules say that, but in my mind I justify bent axle because the part that is actually installed...

    Track Change - Setup Changes

    Well the funny (not really) thing is last year my son's car hit a seam on the old Best Track and came out of his lane, barely making it past the finish line in his last heat. Was by far the fastest car. I was hoping the change would eliminate my worry about it happening again, but perhaps not.

    Our pack has replaced our old BestTrack with a new 48' Freedom Track. Are there any car setup changes I should make based on the track change? I think I saw a post while searching that perhaps less steer would be needed - I'm guessing maybe I could be a little more aggressive with COM as well...

    Bulldog - I just watched your video on sanding the track. You better believe after this incident I'm going to be spending hours doing the same to this damn track before next year's race. Thanks for that video! JP

    A couple of quick questions

    One might interpret "evenly" a couple of different ways. First, the intention could be to disallow canting (I'd guess this is probably the intent, but a bad/vague way to go about it) by implying each wheel itself must be evenly touching, i.e flat. Or it could mean that each wheel has to touch...

    I don't doubt there were some less than perfect seams, in fact I had my file out prerace trying my best to smooth them. Ironic that I'm the one who got screwed by one. So much for karma. I guess I'm wondering how much a com around 7/8 could have prevented it without losing too much speed?

    Thanks for the clarification. I guess I just assumed the rules were more restrictive as you went up and since they aren't allowed in BASX they wouldn't be allowed in Box Stock. Good to know!

    DFW Weight with No Cant in Rears

    So I have 2 cars built with no cant in rears and 5 1/2" wheelbase - one has .5 oz on DFW and the other has .7 oz. Any guesses which is faster, everything else being equal, or as close to equal as possible?
