    MAY NPWDRL RACE INFO!!!

Second to last again but I picked up 0.01 sec with adjustments only. I bought some pre-drilled blocks. Going to take my cars back to basics too. I see that 3.0 and I am going for it. Dr. t

    Reviewing race videos

GravityX, I took some slow mo vids with my iphone and I totally agree with you. Found lots of wobble not seen on the normal speed footage. Dr. T

    Slow Poke Helper Plan Idea

I think if John wants to offer a free registration to the last place finisher of the novice race its a nice idea to keep newbies like me from getting discouraged. I finished second to last in the SS Am race so even I would not have saved the $10. Yet I just ordered some more goodies and I am...

    Duct Tape Car Cover

Hey, Anyone use duct to cover a car in stead of vinyl or monokote? Seems like it would do the trick-light, stick, cool patterns (these days). Any concern that the sticky edge could foul a wheel? Could just make sure you have 1/16 rim of wood around the edges? Dr. T

    Coming back for seconds

Well I noted the car rode the rail well with 4 in of drift over 4 feet so I cut it in half. I saw the car fall behind within a foot of the starting peg. Could have been due to too much toe in and poorly drilled rear axels. No time to address the axels though. Dr. T

    Coming back for seconds

Well, I got my butt handed to me in my first Novice SS race but I am sending the car back for May. I didn't have time to build a new car to properly fix this one (just backed off on the toe-in). I felt I needed to send the car in just so I wouldn't get discouraged. On a positive note I was...

NPWDRL Championship Series Race #3 Novice Class

Guys, I am sure its my drilling. I am not a craftsman. Bought my drill press for this hobby. I can test to see if the table is level, but is pretty crude. I test to see if my bit is 90 degrees to the table but I am not great at this either. After I drill I only have 2-3 in drill bits to...

    Mid America Pinewood Derby

Yes, awesome race and tons of fun. I signed in with my scout login of Noskills. Given my performance I think I might need touse that for all logins We had 5 cars. All got crushed except my son's pack car from this year. Pulled off 4th bear in the graphite scout and 11th overall. Her was...

NPWDRL Championship Series Race #3 Novice Class

Hey ODD, Thanks for this. Saw my car race at 1:50 sec. All, I see now death wobble or wiggle so why was I so slow? I think my wheel and axel prep are good. Drilling is stamp right but might be off a hair. My COM was about 4/8 with 4 in of steer. I thought with the agressive CoM that 4 would...

    sub 3s on scout car

It's hard but doable. We ran 2.96 and 2.99 with stock wheels axels and standard wheelbase. This 42 foot best is faster than Johns.

This hobby is mocking me ...

Lightnin, I hear you. I had my @ss handed to me in the novice race. I was hoping to go sub 3 as I have helped with 5 sub 3 scout cars-I am feeling the pain of knowing that not all 42 ft Best tracks are the same. My brain understands this but the rest of me does not. Dr. T

    Great race!

Hi John, Will you have the novice SS video up on the site? Would like to see my car to see it it rode the rail well or if it needs some adjustment. Thanks, Dr. T
