Why Opposite Cant on Front Wheel - Rail Riding

The way I had it explained to me a few years ago. If your DFW is canted like this /==\ your DFW will be contacting the top edge of the center guide rail, which will act as a knife edge against the wheel. If you have a reverse cant \==/ your DFW will ride along the smother flat vertical section...

Opinions on my build plan please

I’m pretty sure we race in the same District as you. Every time I have asked about different lube besides graphite the answer I get is it needs to be a dry lube. Last year I asked about using Krytox since our Scout Store sells it, they said no once again. They usually make you lube one axle in...

    Graphite break in

We always break in our graphite for our Pack race. We usually graphite at home and then make two passes on our track at home, car gets put away and is not touched again until it is going thru inspection. Our race runs like this, each den races twice in each of the four lanes, so eight runs total...

Our first adults only derby race.

WOW!!!!! That's a little to steep for me. Lol Our entry fee was $35 and included two drink coupons and food.

Racing by Rank vs. All in One Group Racing

Ours are done by rank also. Each rank has a specific start time. This year Tigers raced first starting at 10am. Tiger check in and inspection opened one hour before race time. Once Tigers started racing the Wolves check in and inspection opened for their race at 11am and we did this for all...

We held out first adults only Pinewood Derby race last night. The owners of the venue where fantastic to work with. We are already making plans to return next year. We have a District Champion.

Everybody was there Friday night to setup, they gave us three hours to get it done. We spent an hour setting our pack track up. Once set up we go over every joint on every lane with a straight edge adding shims if needed. I then spent almost an hour cleaning it with pledge. Eric

    We have a District Champion.

By far the worst wreck that my sons car was involved in happened on the 42' best track they used for the finals. I'm not familiar with the track so not sure if this is normal or not. The stop section did not fasten to the main track, it was just pushed up against it. Every time the cars would...

Last minute tuning, what to expect.

My reading comprehension is not very good today. You need four wheels touching. Lol I'll let somebody else answer that one for you since I have zero experience with four wheels touching.

Last minute tuning, what to expect.

You choose which side front wheel you want to do the steering. Then you run a front axle with a slight bend in it on that side. The opposite side front wheel will be raised slightly off the track. The bend in the front axle will give you the adjustment you need to adjust how much steer you...

Last minute tuning, what to expect.

We are only running one front wheel on the left side. Right side has nothing but a guide pin. Problem was fixed awhile back see the new thread "We have a District Champion". I should have read your quote a little better. Our car steer is from the left front wheel since it's the only front...

    We have a District Champion.

If I had to guess, our car had 40+ runs on it. With 50 Tigers racing it was 7 kids per track at the start so it was non stop action. In fact It was happening so fast I never got to watch other members of our Den race unless they were running against my son. We where not allowed to touch the car...

    We have a District Champion.

It was very interesting to say the least. My son was fortunate to draw # 3 so he started racing on the third track from the right. He won his first heat race so he moved up to the second track from the right ( this is our Pack track so we knew his car would run well on it ). He won his race on...
