    DD4H axles/wheels.

We do not have any opportunity to clean/re-lube the day of racing. Once checked in, the Scout can only touch the car to set it on the track. During our pack races we ran about 15 passes. During the districts we ran roughly 20.

That’s a lot of data! Lol you’ve obviously put in a lot of time and found something that works if your times don’t change much after 16 runs. I’m assuming you send your cars in for races? Our runs aren’t timed at the pack or districts so I couldn’t tell you when our car started to slow down...

is the in house treatments part of the race prep treatment?

I think you’re right we joined about the same time. As much as I love building pinewood derby cars with my son, it’s the only time of year that we build, so my knowledge is VERY limited! I try to soak up as much as I can in the short period of time. We went from from not placing in our pack two...

I’m an idiot... lol if I am running graphite, what is the final prep work? Next level? Zero friction?

Sorry for the questions, I have never ordered wheels or axles before. I have always used the ones out of the box. What other prep needs to be done to a polished axle?

Awesome! So if I don’t want them to be completing race ready, I should order the “polished” axles. What is the difference between the race ready and polished?

hey guys, my son and I are getting ready to start his car for Boy Scout. They gave us our cars with less than a month to build, so I’m trying to cram. With that being said, Im getting ready to place an order from DD4H and had a couple questions. If I order the BSA speed axles with legendary race...

How do I test run a car with no track

Unfortunately we will not have time to send them in for a league race. We just got our car and the pack race is in 1 month. I have never given it a thought to send a car to a league race until recently. However, I can see that being in our near future. Thanks for the response!

How do I test run a car with no track

Is there any way to test a car without a track? We will be building two cars this year and have no access to a track to see which one is fastest. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

    Wedge cut or flat?

    Thank you, very much appreciated!

    Wedge cut or flat?

When you say "wedge the leading edge" do you mean the front top of the car or bottom? Or neither? Lol sorry I'm new to all these terms

    Wedge cut or flat?

thank you for the advice!! Will definitely be doing a flat car this year. Also, we will be using tungsten. And I think most people could build a house in the amount of time my son and I have in one car, so I could not imagine building 6!! Lol

    Wedge cut or flat?

We are getting ready to start our second year of pinewood derby with the scouts. Last year we noticed most of the faster cars at the district were cut flat. Is there an advantage of flat cut rather than a wedge?
