That is part of the problem - with a topic and thread this large it becomes impossible to sift through all of the opinions seeking a source of truth. Trust me, I've done the searching and walked away with less answers than when i started.
What are the different approaches you take when prepping for oil vs. graphite?
Do you have dedicated wheels and axles based on oil or graphite?
Can you interchange from oil to graphite and vice versa and what are your re-prepping steps?
We had two cars registered and i had to pull an axle from both cars! It’s interesting how the inspectors are behind partitions and not in public eye. We’ve only attended regionals for the first time this winter so I’m not sure this is standard protocol.
Do you leave your ladder body bare wood or do you prime/paint?
Also, do you include the side rails where the wheels attach? Is there a benefit to clear coating and polishing that surface in the event the wheel hub does make contact.
ProStock rules state no aftermarket axles, only axles from official BSA retailer, however, grooves are permitted. Which is your go-to axle? This car may compete in both graphite only and oil if that matters.
