Going to council level race but what about the lemon pledge?

NOO, treadmill ever. Just load tap & spin, you can run it down the tuning board several times just to get things smoothed out. Sometimes good enough is good enough ;)

Going to council level race but what about the lemon pledge?

You can pick up a 6 step nail buffer @ any CVS or Walgreens. We have used the same graphite prep over 3 months, 1 race each month of 8 laps each before the prep gave up. Just add graphite, tap & spin till it comes thru. Like T-Bone said, clean up the treads & work as clean as you can. The good...

    Sanding PTFE Tape

You can use CA glue around the axle holes & polish that. "nothing mounted between the body & wheel", if that's how the rules read. Sounds like your going to have a good one. Good Luck, Jup.

    Body warping

I built a basic jig to hold a 3/8 block, cut the pockets & sand it down almost to size then seal it. We also use a Dremel tool with a router attachment & 1/8" straight router bit, making a few passes to get the depth desired. It's a lot easier to deal with than a full on router. We aren't...

    Body warping

Sounds like you didn’t leave enough wood to support itself & there might not be a simple fix. Depending on ladder body or full plank routed out. Once you get past a 1/4 inch thick or past 12-15 g you start getting into the danger zone. You need to keep in mind that stiffness is important & we...

Won the Districts - Thanks and Any Council tips?

I’m running BSA Elite axles on my outlaw car. I chucked them up in a drill & touched in a groove with a dremel grinding stone. They polish out so nice you don’t lose any size.

    Thanks to All

Send them in to a league race & get a time, then you have a baseline for the future.

    Checking Nail Axle Run-Out

If you have a hobby drill press, chuck up the axle run it on slow. You can see it. Sometimes you run across a race that won’t allow bent axles or wants 4 wheels touching & the bad ones can come in handy. Just sayin

    Generic oils?

Yep it will wick in, add 1 good heavy drop to the outside & spin it in at medium speed a few strokes. If you can get to the inside hub do the same, if not add 2 to the outside. Try not to add so much that it’s slinging out, that’s unnecessary. It takes a bit to creep in there. DD4H, lightning...
