    Body Inset for DFW

Didn't say that. All things equal i would guess you'd pick up way more speed keeping a car tight on a rough track than a perfect one.

    Body Inset for DFW

I end up trimming both sides, with the end goal of keeping the rears centered and front tight on the rail. If you have a track, it helps to let it roll from just slightly up the hill to see how your car is centering. My opinion is that a front being tight on the rail is especially helpful on...

Help shaving .045 off Cub Scout derby times

If you get the SBE, you will not regret it. I just drilled 1/4" thick blanks for everyone in our pack that wanted one and had a lot of thrilled moms and dads.

Help shaving .045 off Cub Scout derby times

My thoughts: - More steer will definitely help. If you're track is that rough I'd shoot for about 6" over 4 feet - You are right, the SBE will is a superior method to drill axle holes and yes, scouts can use it with a hand drill. Drill a few bodies, check the drills with pin gauges/drill blanks...

    Oil question

I've been very busy helping dads in our pack and a few others proving drilled blanks, weighting tips, etc. Now a few dads in a pack that allows oil want to give it shot. My question is - is it risky running oil on a track where a majority of the racers will be using graphite? Can it get into...

    Cold weather Jig use

I did not look at the axles. Just sprayed, put them in the same plastic box I always use and let them sit for about an hour. Guess I'll have to start spraying the Jig indoors.

    Used Items 70g tungsten bars

They are gone now but they are the ones from Tx. Wider than 1.5, I think 1.65ish and a bit thicker as well.

    Cold weather Jig use

I have always sprayed my axles outside due to the smell. Yesterday it was really cold, which I didn't think about until my cars were very slow after the prep process. No time for a re-prep so off they went but can someone tell me if they have noticed Jig being temperature sensitive. Could be...

    About car body materials...

I'm very interested in the idea of completely covering the top of the car with carbon fiber or 1/64 ply. I've only covered the weight pocket to date but I'm also struggling with cars losing their alignment somewhere in the build process. My guess is the car gets the slightest bit of twist...
