    need help with test

Oh ya thanks bracketracer sounds like a good experiment. I was also gonna get a #42 drill and bore a junk wheel, apply some product, then recheck the fit to the drill bit see if there's any slop.

    need help with test

Yesterday I went down to the local ACE store to see if I could get some of that jig-a-loo. Lo and behold there's no way. Vendor out of business, can't get it or order it blah blah blah. So, I have a product on hand that should work but tests would be in order. Here's the rub, I have no...

    set screw for the dfw

Yep saw that article and its awesome, just thought it would be a lot more cost effective to use epoxy putty that can be drilled and tapped. While I believe the alignment may have been slightly altered, it could be that the graphite lube dropped off resulting in a slower time in the final race...

    set screw for the dfw

Just wondering if any of you use a set screw to lock the dfw axle in place. Last season district race had some heavy handed kids doing the staging and i'm sure alignment was " accidently " moved. I was pondering drilling a hole up from the bottom of the car adding epoxy putty, drilling then...

To Grove or Not To Groove

OK I hope the cars flies down the track, not thru the air. lol FYI dd4h axles exactly 3 degree neg.cant on rears. If , and thats a big IF the axles are in fact hitting at two points only that would also compensate for a screwed up bore. And a good polish would certainly help...

To Grove or Not To Groove

Nice drawing, and I totally get what your saying. With that said, when I pick the car up of the table the rear wheels cant even more toward the car, more neg. cant, which would suggest that with the car weight off the wheel bore now rests on top of and in line with the axle. Conversly, with...

To Grove or Not To Groove

5k You think the groove holds extra lube in reserve? Having a hard time wrapping my head around the whole grooved thing. lol I mean on a canted wheel with and axle of smaller dimension than the wheel bore size there is only two contact points of wheel to axle, right?

To Grove or Not To Groove

Some BSA packs do not allow the use of grooved axles in thier derbys. However, you can polish and even tap the wheel bore. Did anyone ever mill the inside of the wheel bore to mirror image having a grooved axle? I think that would actually be legal and the end result MAY duplicate the...
