1/4" Basswood Blocks

I buy 1/4" Midwest basswood sheets from wherever I can find them. My local Menards has this in-stock usually. I highly recommend the Midwest brand

Then I cut them to size with the Rockwell Bladerunner saw which I swear was designed for just this one task.

If anybody wants to try these, just PM me and I'll make you some (note I'm not set up for high volume).

Thanks LB, we have a Menards fairly close. I'll give them a try. I'd love to try one of John's blocks, but then I wouldn't be learning much. Most of the fun for me is building these things.

Try Michael's craft store. they sell it already set at 1/4 inch thick.

I like to buy the 1.75" x 2" x 10" basswood blocks from Michael's. After a 40% off coupon, they're dirt cheap, and then I can slice them into 1/2" blanks with my dad's bandsaw.

Right... It is Revell, and it comes in a number of different sizes. I usually try to get the 1/4" x 6" x 24" to cut six bodies... works out very nice.
