What is the fastest time that any of you as pros have run on a 35' track with 4 wheels touching. I am curious to see how far off my sons car is. He ran a 2.538 at council and won his council derby. Is that fast or is that simply average by comparison to others times when you are running a 4 wheel touching car?

Really, a four touching car that is set up right only gives up around .010-.015, all else being equal.

I just got my test track after nationals. I ran my car I sent in on it when I got it back. It was running low 2.42s out of the box. I got it down some playing around with the weight and tuning. I was like 10 or 12 cars from last place at nationals. Keep in mind all track times are going to be vastly different. Even at the same length.

What class were you running in at nationals and is it a 35' best track? I feel very slow cuz my best time in 35' best track was 2.475 - even with differences in tracks. I was running stock BSA axles and johns cheetah wheels. Johns krytox

Basx class, yes it is a best track. It could still be a big difference in times though.

Times are really, REALLY, REALLY not comparable directly track-to-track. Even setup to setup. Last year, my winning time on our 35' Best Track was 2.49s. This year, it was just under 2.46s.

Don't worry about what you did on track X. Worry only about the current track you're on. The NPWDRL track stays up year round, so your time in May will be directly comparable to your time in June. Otherwise, just keep learning and trying to find ways of doing better.

Yea I know you are right Mr Burn and that is some great advice I just can't seem to stay away from the temptation to compare times on tracks haha. Thanks for bringing me back to reality!
