First, I would like to say thank you for all the useful info on this site! I've been reading for several weeks now. I have taken over our scout pinewood derby and ordered a new 42' best track. My question is can I order the 4 lane Champ Timer so there is room for future expansion? Already ordered the GPRM but wasn't quiet sure on the timer.

It is a 2 lane track.

I'm going to begin playing around with the software tomorrow. I hope it pretty easy to figure out as I only have two weeks left until race day.

Fair warning. GPRM software works really good. Enter the names of your racers prior to the race. To practice using the the race portion, I found it necessary to have the timer and start switch hooked up. I made a dummy start switch so I didn't need the start section or have to remove the start switch from the track. I worked at my desk, from my desktop. I ran at least a half dozen practice races before race day. practice rerunning a heat, or other boo boos so come race day, if something happens, you've at least practiced. being a prepared operator put the crowd at ease.
