Air Shields

if you run air shields do you still run a washer? I am running graphite and this is my first time trying air shields. Thanks in advance

I'll add a question to this... If you are running fenders, are air shields at all advantageous?

Yes to both of you.

Add delrin inside the shields and polish them.

The shields keep any air from getting inside the wheel, however little it may by, it will keep it a smooth air flow.

Well my son finished first in wolves at Mid America!! I sent in our original build even though it was rough. He averaged 2.9552. Now he says he wants to be there in person next time. Lol, I have created a monster. Thanks for your input and next time I am entering something here at derby dads race (BASX). We are hooked.

Congrats! That was a fast time! The graphite competition was fierce this year! My son’s average was 2.9546 and he didn’t even place in the combined JR and SR Webelos division. Congrats to @Ballistic Racing ’s son Bobby who took 2nd place overall!

Yes, watching the races, there were some fast cars. I didn’t even think we would place in wolves. He kept coming in second and one time got first, then realized it was all graphite competitors which kept me hopeful for him. Competition was fierce.

Glad you guys had fun! The graphite class is always a tuff class with some very close racing.
