Our race is about a month away and I'm looking for some tools to get started with. I've been using basic drills, dremel, saw, etc. and the uncalibrated eye for two years now and wanting to step up our game a little. Body/wheel tools weights(tungsten cubes is what it looks like a many use), almost anything. It's a church race with some hybrid rules(says awana on the top but were made up by leader years ago I believe) and parts(royal racer wheels, bsa axles) What you got?

Hmmm.

- Can you post your rules?
- What kind of track do you run on?
- What's your budget?

Sounds like your willing to pull all the stops...;)
This is cool! If your willing to spend a few bucks the first thing I would purchase would be a good quality axle drill jig. Your rear alignment is your foundation to success and a good jig should rank # 1 in your tool box. Secondly a good quality wheel prep package. A good quality wheel polishing kit will make a big difference in your build. Not sure if you’ll find a good used drill jig and the polish is relatively inexpensive on the DD4H site. Good luck hunt everything down and have fun with your build!

3/8" ground clearance, max 2 3/4 width, 7 3/8 length, 5oz, use wheels from kit (no size or weight reduction, only remove wheel casting) no bearings, washers, or bushings that's pretty much it. I posted last year about the wheels they come with are the royal racer rounded type wheels so I'm not sure if any of the wheel tools will fit/ work. They have a really big i.d. bore close to 0.11 and the axles are about 0.9 not sure what to use on them
We run on an aluminum track 4 lanes
Not wanting to spend a fortune for us is a once a year thing but we've got many more years of races to come if the Lord allows. I'm thinking maybe a couple hundred for the weights and some something to help with drilling and polish/ lubrication
