Now that my oldest son is eight, he is doing more work on his own car, so I asked the youngest if he wanted to enter the sibling race this year. He said he wanted a car that was red with flames.

I made a pair of stencils and this is what we ended up with:

NICE!! That came out looking great! What material did you make your stencil from?

Thanks!
I used card stock. I wanted something thicker than paper so it wouldn't get blown by the spray paint but still easy to cut with a hobby knife.

My oldest got his car painted this past weekend. He wanted his to be a bright blue with flames. He's getting better with the spray cans this year! I picked him up one of those pistol grip holders since last year he was having trouble holding the spray button down. The smaller cans of paint made it lighter for him, too. We reused the same stencils from his brother's car and just moved them around for a different look.

Tell him he did a great job Bracket! I need to get one of those pistol grips for my kids.

I bought a large size can of jig and the spray nozzle was broke do you think one of those pistol grips would work on that?

Your son should be proud and so should you, good luck!

That pistol grip still uses the spray nozzle that comes on the can, the trigger is like a rocker arm that pushes down on the nozzle when you squeeze it. You just snap the can into it and go to town!

Lookin good fella.

Nice paint job. I have been noticing this "flames" design places.

Is it an old school hot rod type thing?

Oh man!

I almost feel bad for those guys.

But ya never know. Some strange thing can happen.

Either way, it is already a win.

That's absolutely true! All it takes is one dropped car to go from first to last!

Since we can't run the wheels canted it's a pretty fine line from stable and fast to wobble and slow. Hopefully we're on the right side of the line. I did what I could for him!

We'll cheer for you! Our pack has pretty traditional rules, they follow district rules, but I am glad we don't have crazy, restrictive rules. Good Luck, you'll crush them!
