An unfortunate event this morning with Laserman's MA car

Yes, it's a good thing that anyone sends in to Mid-Am. No doubt, kudos for that.

You must remember that the "fun" that is being had at his expense comes on the heels of yet another very public meltdown, in which league racers and the leagues themselves were targeted. Pretty fresh memory, yes?

As to the 'fun' that was at his expense: Kind of childish, for sure. The "for sale" thread, and then this one with the video. Not my style. I can live without all the drama. But his response to the "for sale" thread? WAAAYY over the line. Seriously, you throw THAT much of a hissy fit and attack EVERYONE over what was clearly a joke by ONE person? Who does that? Right or wrong, you do that sort of thing you're going to get these types of reactions.
I’m sorry. Did I miss something? Was there a joke ;)

Hey @Crash Enburn don't be salty because you poured your heart out to me.
What are you getting on about? Why are you bringing me into this? My comment on your vid? I thought your vid was relatively cute. The first time. Seeing it in six different places just seemed a bit much...

Like creating four different identities and then adding them to at least four forums. It just smacks of desperation.

@Crash Enburn The Fonze says to give you his best and thanks you for taking the time to be there for him and for just being a good listener. That was really sweet of you.

Maybe I was not as clear as I should have been.

I am not defending Laserman's past actions. Much of what he does is not defensible, and if you ask him, I am sure he will tell you I am frequently unhappy with his behavior.

That said, in this thing, he built a car without much fanfare and sent it into a race to support Greg Dawes. It seems that action at least is deserving of some kind of affirmation.

That's all I have to say on the matter.

I have to disagree with the "not much fanfare" statement.

Before the MA race, I was sent a screen shot of Lasernut posting that the nationals were fixed and that the only fair race was on the MA side. He went on to say that the league guys weren't brave enough to race on the MA side because they would have to face the wheel weights in a fair race. Up till that point I had no intentions of entering the MA side of the race but took this outburst as a challenge. I wasn't the only league racer to take on the challenge. I know the top 3 spots were all league racers. After the race, I get another screen shot where Lasernut is cursing me and posting that I can shove my 23 cars. I guess he wasn't happy where he finished or to be proven wrong again....

The meltdown that followed was epic and very sad. The personal attacks, the crude references, the calls to boycott, spilling over to Facebook and the list goes on. I'm just surprised that you continue to try and persuade us to look past these actions and give Lasernut a pass.

HurriCrane,

I admit that I do not like the attacks that go on at times, so I don't follow the drama that takes place ...sooooo I really don't have a good idea of what transpires.

Thank you for writing the explanation above. To me (the uninformed) it paints a much clearer picture of what happened!

I am not sure what happened on Facebook as I have never been in the site, but I have no reason to doubt what you have said. As far as I have seen and as far as I am concerned, you always seem to take the high road. I appreciate that fact almost as much as I appreciate your ability to build a FAST car.

Thanks again for clearing at least some of this drama up!

OK, I can't even take L'sermans constant whining any longer. Please get his car back to him and for heavens to Betsy someone tell HurriPain to just stop making sense. It is going to cause someone to burst a vessel on his board.
Take it easy there Punky Brewster. That Loserman received his car back this morning. ....and the sad soul didn’t even pay for return shipping.
So for those that say they don’t like drama I’ll fill you in:

I donated $31 to Loserman’s ‘Go Pro’ go fund me.
I received his car from @derbychip at MA
I added D1 oil
I checked the car in
It raced and it didn’t perform well (Casper the friendly ghost, a BASX car beat it... again)
The car was sent without a paid shipping label
I brought the car back with me to Chicago
I made some jokes about how I’m keeping the car as a POW
I paid $13.65 to ship the car back

[EDIT I forgot that I also paid his $10 entry fee]

My nice gesture turned into me spending $54.65 I think that says something about my character. See ya on the Hill eh. AYYY!

And you didnt even get a thank u

Damn...paid his entry, lubed it for him, did him a favor and he didn't even pay to get it shipped back? And then throws an absolute hissy fit when you joke about it? (and come on...who didn't know that was a joke?) Yeah, I still say kind of childish, but what the heck. Not worth all that.

Wish someone would pay my entry fee, lol.
