New Items Another big thanks to John

I just wanted to say that I had an issue recently with something I bought from John. In the end he bent over backwards to make it right, and really much more. I very much appreciated that and wanted to give him a shout out about it. He deserves a lot of credit for the way he does business.

A racer from another league had told me that John farmed his wheels out to be machined.
I was incredulous at this because I had wondered who this vendor could possibly be.
When I had the chance to ask John about it he laughed and told me that he turns all the wheels himself.
This is the only way he could keep the quality of the product so high.
He is not just mass producing these wheels and an occasional dud may slip thru.
Each set of wheels is hand crafted.
That is the type of vendor he is. He takes pride in his craftsmanship.

I was picturing a small team of highly skilled machinists living in a remote mountain outpost that were sworn to secrecy.
Like one of these sword makers in a Kung fu film.

I actually got to watch John cut his wheels on 1 of my trips out to Utah for the races. John has a very cool set-up and trust me, he cuts them all himself. I do know he had his old version of mod wheels farmed out to be CNC machined and he was disappointed with the quality they gave him. Maybe that's what they were talking about but I do know, even though he had to swallow the cost, he made sure and sorted the bad wheels out and trashed them before any went out to the customers.

Good lesson I learned recently and fits well with laserman's post, don't believe everything you here in this hobby. Some stories you here cause big problems. If there is ever any doubt about something you hear, go to that person and talk to them about it. I know Joe did do that in this example and that's the right thing to do.
