Are the Revell BSA Wheels worse?

I've been wondering about using Revell wheels in local scout races. I've heard that they are made from a softer plastic, and racers avoid them. Any truth to these ideas?

By our rules we must run BASX wheels, no canting, with graphite. I think any disadvantige might be minimal.

Are the Revell wheels prone to being out of balance?

I'm actually wondering if the softer plastic is an advantage when running graphite, it might burnish better.

I'd love hear your thoughts!

They are harder actually but they are much heavier which makes them worse.

How much heavier is "much heavier"? I weighed one, and it came to 2.7g. Isn't that the ballpark weight of an unmodified BSA wheel, or am I misremembering?

At the scout shop the color wheels are rumored to be softer and smoother. They weigh the same, and I've run about the same times with them as I have with the black ones. So if you like the look, go fo it. I've seen people get picky on the mold numbers. (3, 8, 12, 15)

The Revell wheels are heavier, by a lot. BUT the Revell nails have fewer imperfections than the BSA nails, and don't have to be filed before sanding and polishing. So that $3.49 at hobby lobby for the nails might interest you.
