Your guys talent and ability are awesome! It seems that every month you all step up your game more and more! The quality of these build are stunning.even the new guys just coming in are fast and building some super quality cars. Congrats to all the race and class winners you guys are amazing and deserve the recognition.

I'm usually a plank style builder, but after seeing your guys peices of art I may have it try something different. Ian and Zeeb prove that pretty can be fast!

Keep up the great work!

QT, my observation from building a variety of both is that as long as you have a fairly wide front area of the car, either style can be just as fast. And Ian encourages his teammates to build interesting looking cars !

What impresses me is the number of people like yourself that are right up there competitive across most if not all of the classes. I am still trying to get past 1.

Mario,

What leads you to believe that a wide front end helps a car design? I am asking because all my new car designs are utilizing a narrower front end. I had plenty of people tell me you need a "plank" style car to run fast and it has always been my personal quest to have a car with some style perform at the top. I am starting to believe that the body plays an important role in the build but when it comes to bearing cars, there are other areas that are more important. The narrow front end may not be the ticket but like I have always said, I need to try it myself before I dismiss it.

I am just citing from my own experience. I think you may be misled by my use of the term "wide". As far as I am concerned, all of your 2012 cars (which I have seen up close) fit that description.

When I have made the front much smaller, and there are a lot of different ways to do that, especially with headless axle cars, the cars were slower. It just seems like the front 3/4" - 1" of the car is pretty important, but most of the area behind it isn't. Look how skinny the mid section is on some of your cars and they are beating MANY full plank cars. I don't think either is THE way to go, just that I take that front (however thin) as a very important element.

Not sure if that helps any. Either way Andy and I figure your buying pizza next time you show up for tuning !
