Axle/bore prep steps

For clarification Is this the correct order for axle/bore prep or am I mixing it up?
1 - polish with sand paper (axles)
2 - apply axle/bore polish
3 - apply wax
4 - apply jig to axles
5 - apply oil.

For axles:
Wet sand
Polish compound
Clean thoroughly
Apply jig(let the solvent flash off so you don't melt the plastic)

For wheels:
Polish bore and hubs
Clean thoroughly
Apply wax
