Hi everyone - My son's car for District is need of repair . The axle slots are very loose . We are running stock BSA axles . It's a good car but loses it 's tune quickly .

Some one mentioned here - White Glue in the slot ..

It sounds like a good idea but I can not find the thread this info. was in and how to do it .

Any suggestions ? Just found out the Pack Politics finally went our way and we are eligible to race District this weekend!!! Really Behind !!! Thanks for your help ..

Remove axels and drill small hole under the car at the point where the axle point is. Then tune the car and when u get the car tuned just drop a drop of glue in that whole and leave it alone for a while. This wil keep glue AWAY from the wheels. NEVER put glue on the body where axle holes are!!!! It will sneak up the axle and stick your tires. Good luck! I have a state council race this weekend

I have used fishing line in the past. This should be a last resort though, as it will further enlarge the bore and change the toe or camber slight.

Thanks guys - I'll look at those ideas. I thought someone here wrote about putting a thin coat of white glue in slot to take up the slack also . I 'll search the prevoius posts again

Has anyone automatic center punched or' peened ' the axle by the point to take up slack ? This will probably really enlarge the slot!!!

Yes ! That was the thread . The axle made a nice round hole on top of the slot in my son's car . I think I'll try Elmer's method and a spare axle .

We will also drill a hole in the car and glue the axles in after our final tune .

Cozybldr did you have success with your repair ?

Thanks again to everyone for the help ...

It worked out well for me. Remember to use a spare axle to do this.
