Gulfport Ms.
The question: Billy just ordered some 1 2 3's. He has an older than dirt table saw that was made when America was building stuff to last. The table squares out to be as level as 1960's flat top hair cut. Shouldn't that suffice as a granite block for a level surface to work from ??

Love him or hate him you always wanted to know where Mr. Restrictor Plate was with 10 to go at Daytona or Talladega. For the haters it was ANYBODY BUT CHEATIN' DALE EARNHARDT (ABCDE) but for Billy and his family he was simply "THE MAN". On a sunny day in October 2000 The Man started the Winston 500 at Talladega in 27th and was running 20th with 6 to go. Billy and family had the pleasure to be sitting just off turn 4 when the pack cleared the infield motorhomes and this is what they saw. Unfortunately It was his last victory as he was killed the following February in the last turn of the last lap of the 2001 Daytona 500. But what a win it was !!

DOIN' IT FOR DALE (with tears in my eyes) !!......RRR

Some in PWD leagues have been accused of cheating because of their speed; but those at the top, they are just "THE MEN."

G-Body you’re right, a lot of the actuations are based on jealousy. It’s all good until someone you’ve owned begins to own you. One of Smokey Yunick’s best quotes ever was “There’s 2 kinds of racers, cheaters and losers”. I don’t subscribe to that concept but I know this. You can’t just work harder than the guy in the lane next to you, you also have to work smarter.

As per the email I sent you about you know what. That particular item was birthed from a thought about an experience I had several years ago. It was a process I observed while visiting a shop that deals with certain aspects of which we deal with. I think they know something we don’t about working with a certain material. I accessed one of their forums to find out what they use to achieve their desired result. Sometimes you have to think outside the box, which I know you do. I call it a crossover procedure.

Some of the BEST new ideas come from outside the industry! I have always believed this. Too often people just get caught in what works. Someone from outside doesn't always think the same and has not been engrained in a certain way to do things.

Unfortunately most of my "new" ideas have already been thought of and tried by those who have been around the block. Like most things in life, there needs to be balance. Finding the correct balance of the tried and true while still having the ability to think outside the box would probably allow a person to achieve a winning combination.

TBR and Roadrunner I wish there was a like like Botton because the two of you have just broken the internet.

YEARS ago when Don Garlits showed up at the first National Event that he revealed his winged spoiler everyone laughed. He simply replied next season every dragster in the hunt for the Championship will have one of these. QUESS WHAT !!
