An improvement would be to stack two or three wheels on top of one another using a nail through the bores. Glue the wheels in place. Glue sandpaper around the wheel treads as opposed to the nail face. Place that contraction in a drill press and use the deck of the drill press to slide the fender into that contraption to cut the radius. Low tech but it works perfectly. You can use different sized wheels to cut different radius-es.

I have tried this before. The heat from sanding with it eventually warps the wheel or the glue fails.

Scott you're right, G Body you're right. In fact you're both right. But Billy came up with a better idea 1-800-Cousin !! :D

This is also how Bulldog used to do his fenders too. It’s in his now famous fenders how to video. His glue worked so much better than mine. Like 358T already mentioned... mine failed due to heat. Worked like a charm until it did. I use a 1” round file which is exact same radius. Has a rough end for quick cut and a fine end for smoothing out. Then I use 150 strip glued to the tread of a scrap wheel for finishing.
I like the hole saw idea and that’s what I was going to try next. I’ll have to give my cousin a call. ;)

Jimmy it's good to have a cousin that's an excellent wood worker with more tools that a cousin can borrow LOL LOL

I use a hole say like you have pictured. Depending on what OD wheels I am using I use the 1" or 1.125" hole saw to rough cut. Then I wrap 60 or 80 grit sandpaer around the hole saw till it is the OD I want. Then I slowly shape the radius of the balsa by massaging it against the sandpaper wrapped hole saw.

Billy loaned me his hacksaw blade he used to break out of the Nervous Hospital LOL
