Block thickness?

Ok, I have to ask.

With a 4 on the floor and all 4 wheels must pass a roll test inspection, how thick should I cut the block down to? I am planning on making a fendered car like Exorcist3D did in his paint guide. Thanks again for that Exorcist!

My axle placement will be:
3/16" in the front
5/32" in the rear

Axles will be 93SGA's, block will be drilled with the Block. It is being designed as a Railrunner. It will have the front narrowed 1/16". COM is planned at 3/4".

The wheels are from John for this build: lightened will all markings intact.

I think that covers it.

shoot for 3/8" if you are using tungsten cubes, thinner up front.
the rage will fit the bill, the rage extremes should too. both have all markings.

Could I do poured lead or is 3/8" too thin for that and still get weight to 5 oz?

I would route the same pockets into scrap wood and pour the lead into the scrap instead of your body. I don't like how the wood gets after getting heated that bad. I have also developed a new drilling technique for 4 wheel cars that is turning wicked times!. The only catch is that it is just plug and play. No bent axles. THe front wheels have a positive camber and work together turning the car. I have enough tests that I k=can now say it is worthy of going onto the site. Easiest fast 4 wheel car ever!

Can the new 4 wheel drilling be done for negative cant on the front? We have that weird track with no center guide

It is done with the Block on 2 seperate Proxxons. It can be done with either cant.

It has to be predrilled. I have not had to tune one yet.
