I've got a buddy that will be racing in a BSA race. I thought they ran a older wooden track where weight forward would be preferred? Any ideas?

I remeber when I was a kid we had a more centered com. Between My Brother and I we had 4 pack wins a third 'cause another car came off and broke mine. And one district champ. We'll wait for the pros to chime in my guess would be as long as car is stable a more agressive com would be fine. Last year we raced on an old wood track a a girl scout race with a ~1"com and three wheels flat. Fourth wheel could have been a little to high. With no steer, the three wheelers with agressive com's would sometimes come off one of the lanes that was in poor condition.

We used an aggressive com on this car and won every race and set track records. I would say never put the weight up front. IMHO I also am a firm believer that running the rail benefits you on a rough wood track, the front of the DFW doesn't hit the track but rolls you past the rough spots.

Kinser is 100% correct, here is a typical Cub car with different placements for the center of mass [COM]- [same as COG-center of gravity]
Big difference. Now the front loaded car can still win if no one in the Pack was putting the axles on straight or removing the flash.
