I was helping my son rebuild his Scout car to enter at NPWDRL when I discovered an issue.
His car is very very narrow due to the design he chose, so we used wheel weights to get as much weight as far back as possible.
Our District doesn't allow cant, so in order to squeeze some more speed out of it, we thought we'd fill the holes with toothpicks/glue and redrill. However, after doing so, the wheels are rubbing on the wheel weights because there isn't enough clearance to account for the cant.
What is the solution to using rear wheel weights with a 3 degree cant? Do you have to shim it somehow?
