Raiding your wives makeup case or cabinet is like leaving the commode seat up, it's just not a good idea !! But if there's something in there like "Gel Top Coat Nail Polish" that will make my car go faster I'll just wait until she's outside mowing grass. I mean somebody's gotta mow it. This risk vs reward may or may not be worth the consequences on many levels. Read a post where a guy was suggesting rather than burnishing graphite or oiling the bare wood area around an axle hole to apply this stuff. He say's it's a clear top coat women use to protect their nail polish and a light thin swipe of it dries quickly, very hard and sands smooth as glass. Ok, i could possibly see that but he went on to say it can also be built up and act as a spacer. Being totally oblivious in regard to the use of a spacer in this location what, if any benefit is there to be gained other than possibly keeping the rear wheels from touching the guide rails.......Asking for a friend !!

You want the area around the axles holes as hard and smooth as possible in the event the rear wheel hubs touch the body. Think about how soft and not smooth the wood is.

With the DFW it WILL hit the body, so you especially want this area as hard and smooth as possible. I haven't tried the nail polish. I use thin super glue (CA), several coats of it. I put an old axle or pin gauge in the hole to keep the glue out. Sand it smooth with high grit paper and then rub graphite on it if that's the lube you're using.

Thanks TSR....good info will check out the super glue. Some of that Nail Hardner stuff is quite expensive. He called it 'Gel Top Coat Nail Polish". How much "build up " of the glue do you add and do you treat the rear axle areas as well? I suppose you simply set gap off the glue ??

I liked that Sally Hansen Teflon Tuff Quick Dry Top Coat when I ran in Boxstock class. I liked it better than CA glue personally, but it's hard to get now. You could maybe get it on eBay, but I'm not sure.

You like it that much better than CA? I've got a bottle of the Sally Hansen, haven't messed with it yet. I like the quick dry time of the CA.

Yep Sally H stuff is available eBay $4.99 + shipping. I've noticed there's different viscosities of the CA which makes it more complicated to pick the right one and is more expensive than Sally.

Yeah i'm old Skool and once dated a girl named Sally !! Enjoy LOL........RRR
