I was reading in another post that some fellows wished they could have cleaned their wheels before sending to mid america race, what do you clean wheels with and does it help that much with your speed?

Where the wheel touches the track needs to be clean as possible. You can use pretty much anything from 2500 grit, cardboard, magic eraser, and so on. One thing I have been using lately is a dryer sheet. Don't tell anyone its top secret!!

i think they were referring to a magic eraser, if you clean your tred before each run you can maintain the speed, you can and will loose speed as the wheel picks up dust and things from the track.

do you get to clean your wheels before each run? if so do they clean all the cars wheels before each run or do you have to be there live and clean your own

No the wheels are not cleaned before each class race. Unless there is excessive amount of build up on the track. Than all wheels are cleaned before each race.

As you clean particles off the wheel, you gain speed. BUT you can sometimes charge the wheel with static electricity that will slow you back down a bit- still better to clean-BUT when you clean with magic eraser or a dryer sheet- (or other things) they remove static and in some cases prevent static from building up. With static reducing methods, the wheel picks up less aluminum during the runs. When you pledge clean the track, you also reduce static and reduce aluminum transfer to the plastic wheel.

The answer is "No". Wheels can be cleaned before the class starts only. If you're racing proxy you'll clean your own wheels before you send them in.
