Our fleet of cars for 2013:

1st Place - AWANA Grand Prix - Speed
3rd Place AGP - Speed
1st - Webelos I
2nd - Pack Championships (lost to Father-son we shared all the tricks with last year) /images/boards/smilies/cool.gif
1st - Siblings (medal not pictured)
1st - Dads (Dads don't get trophies.) /images/boards/smilies/frown.gif

"Ripcurl" (My daughter's fascination with Bethany "Soul Surfer" Hamilton continues). 1st in Speed in AGP. 1st Place - Sibling race at the PWD.

"Playtime" 3rd Place - Speed and 3rd Place - Design at AGP (Paint job entirely by my 9 yr old daughter)

"Bubbles" 1st Place - Webelos I. 2nd Place - Pack Championships. Track record holder. Aside from pouring the lead, my son did all the work -- including wheels and axles!

The "Title Wave" 1st Place - Dads Division

I am VERY happy with these results. This is the first time (in five years of racing!) that we have won for speed in the AGP. My son winning his den and taking 2nd in the Championships is phenomenal; and that he polished his own wheels and axles himself makes it doubly so. The boy he lost to was the only one who took up my offer last year to share any and all info I had on making a fast PWD to our rules (graphite, four wheels touching flat). Our loss was 64/10,000 sec, cumulative. I did beat the Dad handily, though. /images/boards/smilies/cool.gif

We would have done better with more prep time. We started on the cars on Sunday night, raced the AGP on Wed. night, and the PWD on Sat. morning. (That makes only two nights of prep time for each car)

Awesome job Crash and family! The smiles all around just make it all worth the effort!!!

That is awesome!!!! Hey Dad has the best trophy ever ... His kids!! LOL ...They can share theirs once in awhile ...

Thanks, all. My older daughter (maker of the surfboard) was pretty thrilled to win the AGP. And even moreso when she won the sibling races too. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

And I don't think my son realizes how proud I am that he won on a car that was 90+% his build (I did lead and wheel install). /images/boards/smilies/cool.gif

I think I owe it to myself and you, for all your help, to make a car and send it in to an NPWDRL race. For a good thrashing to keep me humble. I'll have to figure something out for lube (we are graphite-only, four wheels touching flat in our PWD).
