I have a question about the DerbyMaster race management software. Is this software capable of displaying car names during the race e.g. when heat results are displayed on the screen? If so, I was wondering if we could start showing car names during the race? I think this would make it a lot easier to follow the racing especially when racers submit multiple cars for a class.
Thinking back I remember legendary car names like “TUK”, “Dirt Nasty”, “Hotang”, “Taz” and “LA2”, and besides being very fast cars, I think what helped to bring these cars to legendary status was the constant advertising of their names . . . displayed during heat results, displayed when the top three finishers were shown at the end of a race, and displayed with their photo in a league photo library.
Hopefully what I am asking doesn’t create a bunch of work for somebody (John). Maybe the car names in the photo library can wait until later, but I’d really like to see the car names in the heat results during racing. This in my opinion would greatly enhance the spectator experience, and I know my kids would appreciate seeing their car names displayed during racing at Nationals instead of Cygnus Racing car #42, Cygnus Racing car #57, Cygnus Racing car #18, et cetera.
