I am running a scout car/no washers. Just took apart car to see why its dropped a small bit of speed and get it ready for district this weekend, maybe install new wheels.
I saw I have a place where the fdw has cut into body....Is this really slowing me down?
I do have duplicolor paint as well as duplicolor clear on it. Really no way to fix this....

I am pretty sure that this is it

I was just reading that post today. Already ordered all kinds of stuff to try. My wife will probably be a little confused when the nail polish shows up in the mail.

I already have a groove cut into the side, I don't think any fingernail polish will build up that much
without gumming up and making slower.
I guess I will put the wheels back on and just run it with the groove in the side....hope it won't slow me too much.

Use some epoxy to fill it. I wouldn't just run with it. Once the epoxy is starting to set up, but still soft, put a pile of your graphite on there and just very gently press it into the epoxy. Once it's set up completely blow the additional graphite of and you'll be ready to roll, literally. I'm assuming, that your using graphite right?

You are talking about the wheel hub and not outside of the wheel?

If you are talking about the hub then I would follow Kinser's advice.

Thanks, I sanded the paint and clear off the small area behind the fdw. And it did smooth out, I think it was mostly in the paint and clear coat....its just not that hard.
I think I will rub the graphite in the wood and tune for the districts, I think I can get 8 or so more runs on it...
The graphite on top of epoxy works great though, I did do a test with it.
Let the epoxy get somewhat hard 15 min or so, then rub graphite in it...super slick.
I may try that on my next cub build around the axle.
