Well tomorrow is the district race, same track as was used at our pack race way back in Mid Feb. I have run both the boys cars and one switched the wheels for some with a better job on the bore prep, that car picked up just a little. I also have another car I am using as a test bed for next year. The test car just throw together with good preped wheels and axles ran right with the boys cars. Tonight I pulled my test car apart and am painting clear nail polish on the areas where the inner wheel will touch the body. I plan on 6-8 coats. I am then going to rub graphite on those areas and I hope to pick up a little with this addition. Last I got the axle bender a couple weeks ago and bent an axle as a test and I test fit it on a different car, I think I have a good angle. So I bent my DFW axle and I like what I see, so I will be with no testing before the outlaw race going to use the new bent DFW axle. I have an idea on where to set it so I hope to get a little pick up there. So with these two changes I hope to learn just enough more to be able to get the cars just a tad quicker for next year with just this set up. I plan on adding dynasty 92 axles and Dynasty Cheetah wheels next year. The only other thing I want to try an see how much I can pick up are fenders. I have a very nice design and have cut out a set for the front and rear. I just have to mount them on a dummy car to practice shaping them. This has been a very slow process this year but I think by reading almost every thread I have found many different things that have been helpful. One question, for those that bake blocks do you bake the block before or after you drill axle holes and cut out the body shape and weight pockets?
Thanks
