Without looking at the sellers name, what's people's opinions on the Titanium axles? http://www.maximum-velocity.com/htm/4100.htm Not saying I would ever buy from anywhere other than John as I've had nothing but success from his products, but I dont shy away from R&D on "other" products. Just wondering if anyone has seen them in action or played with em themselves.

Im not sure how it would polish? I'm sure it would but would take more effort. The main thing about Titanium is that it's usually lighter and stronger than it's counterpart in steel. With not a lot of stress on the axles i don't think the extra strength is necessary. Also they would be harder to bend for the DFW. Plus much more expensive.
I think for the PWD application SS Axles are the best option.

But.........Maybe it would have a lower friction coefficient? Again not sure how Titanium will polish?

There are lots of things that look like gimmicks, but could possibly work. Then you have Titanium axles. A gimmick that will not get you speed.
They can not polish up like stainless, and they are NOT as hard, and have a worse coefficient of friction.
So in your mind you say, well if I loss a little on friction, but the lighter axles let me move my COG back almost 0.0001 inch, am I not better off?
The answer is NO, NO, NO!. You loose anything on friction and you can hang it up.

It is OK to try things from different vendors. I won't shoot you! It is probably smart to ask like you did so you save a good bit of money. We try and test everything that is available and if there is improvement to be made then we make it. I already tried the titanium route years ago and they were slower for me so I did not bother. It does make for another good gimmick I guess.

I figured you guys would have feedback on them which is why I asked. thanks for the technical breakdown TxChemist. I guess chalk that one up to another gimmick. I feel bad for the poor souls that dont know about this site.
