Starting to plan an Eliminator for this fall. Outside of 7" and 5 oz. I'm green. Any considerations to wheel base would be helpful.

Thanks, John

I will post but far from the best example to follow. I have done several different wheel bases and have yet to find any difference. I can consitently build a car which breaks the 2.8999 realm but still need another .001 to really be compeditive. There will be new wheels available by this fall from DD4H in the eliminator class which like all his wheels will be great. Make your car a little narrower as the eliminator wheels do not need the clearance the fat stock wheels require. Thin, back weighted and much more mild on the steer. Maybe 3-4 inches over 8 feet. There is what I do to get me to these times. Gotta figure how to get down to the 2.88XX

I run 1/2'' or less on my com with about 2.5'' of steer in 4'. I like to run 5" or 5-1/4" wheelbase but no longer. My car from April was running 5-1/4" wheelbase. The biggest thing in this class is getting a good prep for the razor wheels.
