FEBRUARY RACE!!!!

The results are posted!

The league is growing bigger and bigger and there is no way I could do this on my own. I love my local group here! They are such a huge help. I want to thank Quicktime, JB, Cam Car, and Chips for helping me pull off another great event. I also want to tip my hat to the racers. There has never been a more competitive group! I thank you deep down for all your support. The new NPWDRL website will be launching this week! It will be incredible!

I have a few details I need to cover.

1st- I am going to put up a new registration form. If you are competing in Street Stock you will have to designate Pro or Am. I am going to have separate point standings for each level. If you have been classified wrong in the first 2 races let me know and I will figure your points out and switch you. If you are AM you will race AM for the 4 month series. The top 3 AMs will have to move to Pro in the next series.

2nd- I am going to be buying a new timer. I think we are getting random races with wacky times but there is no way to know for sure. I have scoured the track and the gate and it has never been smoother so the only thing that could be an issue is the timer. It will be changed and fixed before the next race.

3rd- Shipping! We are as a group getting to the top of our game shipping. However there still are a few that just refuse to conform. DO NOT INCLUDE STAMPS!!! I will no longer return cars with stamps. It is a quick way to lose your cars and I will not be responsible. Also if you use stamps I have to stand in line at the post office. I don't have time to do this! WARNING... if you do not include the prepaid return label I can tape or stick on then your cars might be delayed getting back. Please visit www.usps.com and set up an account and I promise it is very easy to create this label.

4th- Race time and leader board. I battled all week to try and get the leader board working and thought I had it until race morning when everything stopped working. I will also have this taken care of before the next race. it is very important to me that we get on time starts and with this many cars it is now critical. I need everyone to do me a favor. If you would like the leader board please everyone take a chance and express it to Randy Lisano to please make the leader board have an option to show in the main race screen. Currently the only way to get it is to have multiple video cards and this becomes the main issue. We need at least 4 monitors here to run the race and I just can't get it to function properly the way it currently is. The software is great and for whatever reason he won't build this into it. Click here.

You have a great thing going here I can't beleive the time you put into giving us a place to race dido to all let see what we can do to help.

when i click on the link it takes me to the npwdrl page but the results are january not february. anybody having the same problem or am i doing something wrong?

Interesting phenomenon continues, You are either in the drafting boost, or wake drag depending on how close you are to the other cars in your race. The Finals have you up against just fast cars, and when you are in a race with all very fast cars, you all get a lower time unless you are so much behind, the draft is broken and becomes a drag due to the wake.

I am sure you checked this John, but I have to ask - any chance the strange times came from a problem with your release sensor ? I don't know your setup and I am sure its a very good one, but its just a lot rarer for the electronics to do what we saw. It seemed like the times were jumping up and down in Unlimited which could happen with a release sensor problem.

I was thinking along the same line as Mario. Maybe try a micro switch instead of buying a whole new timer. Start with the easiest and cheapest solution first. By the way, Mario is an electrical engineer so he has quite a bit of knowledge on this subject.

There is no micro switch on the NPWDRL track. It run on a laser gate, basically the laser beam is broken by a lever when the gate drops.

Ok got ya! There wasn't any pictures to help me understand. I don't like to read, pictures are much better.lol

Yeah, I guess I wasn't clear. $hitcan the laser and install a micro switch. They are only a few bucks.

The laser has to be as dummy proof as anything there is. THe gate seats the same everytime. No problems, new timer on the way. I need one anyway for the NEW track that is going to be coming! I have a few weeks to figure it out. If the new timer doesn't change anything then we will rip the gate apart but this setup has been running for a very long time with no issues. I know when the issues started now and what caused them. It will be fixed.

Thank you OTO!
