I don't have my Mid america wheels yet, but I do want to go ahead and get fenders mounted to car.
Can I use a unmodified wheel and a rubber band to set the fender gaps? - or would the gaps be too
large for the mid america wheel?
Thanks

You want the fenders to line up with the wheels exactly as well as having tight gaps. Since the hubs are cut down you'll need to have your race day set of wheels in hand to get it right. Stock hubs will be longer so you won't be able to get the offset right.

I've never installed fenders, but a longer version of the Owens Wheel Gap Gauge looks like it would come in handy.

You could use them on any diameter wheel and pick the the gap you want according to axle-wheel bore difference.
