Fender Mounting Idea

I had come up with this idea a while back and after reading about problems gluing on fenders and having them bust off due to hard stops or just not having enough mounting area, I think it maybe a good idea.

I stick tooth picks in my axle holes all the time to keep paint out, so I know it's a snug fit.

Seems to me one tooth pick pin would reinforce the fenders mounting quite well.
 
toothpicks work great for ladder rungs too. dont saw them though, use toe-nail clippers to cut them real close then sand flush.
 
I've been wanting to do the toothpick mounting for fenders for a bit. But as an experiment, not gluing them in. Instead, having the ability to swap out fenders to test different fender shapes.
 
My son's Cub car this year was a shark. I made a dorsal fin and attached it to the car in this exact way. Toothpick and a little epoxy.
