Fenders are the Bane of my Existence! What am I doing wrong?

I'm no expert with fenders, but it looks like there's too big a gap between the fender and the wheel to me.

I don't know if it's the angle of the picture, but it just bothers me that the points of the rear and trailing fender do not match up perfectly.

Ok. So my son won Pack for the second year and just won District for the second year! He Annihilated the kids at District by a half a second.
So now on to MA! So I'll remount those fenders and tighten the gaps, then I'll repost pictures for everyone to critique! I have to figure this out!

I know! My son was almost embarrassed of his times! He actually was running 2.498 on the packs 35' best track and ran a 2.506 on districts same track! The closest one was a run of 2.640 but the others averaged 3.060 just slower this year I guess!
