We are gearing up for my sons BSA derby. I don't see anything in our rules saying no fenders. The only real rule that might apply is that add on's have to be BSA approved. I have seen races at the district level with fenders. Any advice ?
Make them from the leftover scrap pieces you trimmed from the block of wood, it's BSA approved, if you want to get technical. Otherwise, get out the saw and carve out a set from balsa or buy a set from John. Either way should work.
I have a set of Ghee fenders... I just didn't see anything saying they are BSA approved, but i see tons of plastic things glued to cars.. Mario, Star Wars Angry Birds figurines, lights, ..I am pretty sure that little licensed toy figures are not BSA licensed or "approved."
I have seen more legos and stuff on cars I would run the fenders. BUT>>>>> please be prepared for others to call you out saying that car is illegal or you are cheating because by the sound of things, I think you are going to blow thier doors off!!
That just may happen to me tomorrow at my daughters Powder Puff race. We have a car in every catagory and I know we will be bringin home some hareware...Keep us posted and show us some pics.
