My first build for the new basx, looks good so far, my first time using washers. Now to the fun part axles, wheels and alignment.

That's the plan, I'm going to try and get 3 done so I can practice this month on the 42' foot track then readjust for the 63' race in June before sending them to nationals.

Looks good.

Nationals is the 63' race. It's July 11th and 12th, there's no race in June. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks for the kind words. Zeezob is going to have a pre practice race on a 63' track as a warm up for nationals.

All the details for the 63ft race in June at the Zeebzob Speed Shop are listed under the Local Racing Event section.

Oh and very nice looking BASX car 561 Racing. I hope it does well and runs fast for you.

I will be watching your car race live at the Zeebzob race.

Nice. Is that a body wrap or paint?

Thanks, it's a paint job, I'm not computer savvy enough like most who do the labels, and I suck at wraps. I'm still trying to con my wife to go on her photoshop and make me a avatar for 561 racing. She just loves when I bring up pinewood derby.

Nice looking car, 561.
kisses
There's a lot of wives who just love PWD.

That's a great looking car. And I'm a big fan of paint - I just seem to like it better.

I do have a question though. Are those delrin washers? I think the rules in the BASX class indicate bushings are not allowed. Are those considered bushings? I'm not very good with interpretations like this; hoping a racer will weigh in.

I think it's the perfect class for derby dads to keep improving on there builds. Once I feel comfortable I'll move up class so I can get more work on building cars with fenders. I noticed at MA , we were one of the only few cars in finals without fenders.

Those are the delrin washers. I checked with john first before installing them. He says there a go. I love to paint the cars, but sometimes my impatience fouls up the job.

Not sure why but this class is taking me back to the days when I first started.

Because this is where it all started with you John. This is the grass roots class.

We all had to start somewhere and we'll always remember our beginnings. I'm looking forward to running this class. It will be interesting for sure.

Thank you sir. I excited to get my feet wet, and hopefully I don't embarrass myself.

Bushings would be if it was inside the wheel bore, like a delrin sleeve seated in the wheel or over the axles where the wheel rides.
