Gee Fender Finish

Got my first set of black Gee fenders and notice the finish has a gritty texture, is that normal?

I hit mine with some light sand paper and they smooth out.

I was wondering if you guys sanded or left them alone.

I wasn't sure if the rough texture would hurt the cars performance.

I leave mine as is. Unless I want to chance the color.

I left mine alone, my other set I painted over. Smoother finish, but I wanted a black pair which is why I painted them.
