What is the preferred glue / methods on installing GEE fenders where one can reuse the fenders and car body?

Appears using a sliver of aluminum tape stuck right on the fender where it will touch the car body. Then glue in place with CA to stick the metalized surface to the wood.

1st SS build so appreciate the feedback.

Thanks,

Yes that will work. Honestly, even if you glue them straight to the body, you can use some de-bonder and get them off easy.

I use an old wheel wrapped with tape to set the gaps. Two our three wraps will usually do the trick.

+1, I am glad I do at least one thing the same as a real pro.

I use this thread protector, which just so happens to fit the wheel snugly and gives me a nice gap every time. Maybe I need to start saving them up and sell them. /images/boards/smilies/idea.gif

FYI, I do not have any extra of these "tools", but I will now be saving them as I encounter them. Please be patient. I will ask around the shop for the guys to start saving them for me.

Some inquiring minds wanted to know about the gap size created with this spacer shown, it's .048" - .050", which gives plenty of room for the DFW.

I use another for the rear and it's slightly thinner at .031", any benefit with a tighter gap at the rears? Not sure... but it seems to work well.

I am going to be doing my first GEE fenders here soom. Is just shaping the side of the body to match the wheel's angle good enough or should I plan to add a wedge to the side to set the angle? It looks like some just leave the rears straight and angle the 2 front ones to match what is usually a steeper angle.
