This past weekend was My daughter's Girl Scout Pinewood Derby
I only took pics of the Qualifying final time and the Finals race results
The car that won the event ran in my daughter's Qualifying races as well
Done by Tessa Harbaugh Bones( Rick Harbaugh's daughter)

I got a real late start on Amanda's car for the race on Saturday
I cut 1/4 off and should have cut it to at least 1/2 inch, it was way to thick and I used a cooping saw and it took a long time to do. on Friday night
So with some shut eye, I worked on it some more with Dremal sanding band 60 grit was doing fine but ran out of power real fast
So since I had this Drill Press and had bigger sanding drums on a spindle I chucked it up and went to work and finally got the shape I wanted
I had ordered a tungsten disc 3.1 oz from Derby Champ and since I had thick body I weighted it it said 5.45 oz .
So I drilled a 1 inch hole front and back and 3/8 holes in the middle still not enough
So I went to the small cylinders I had and small tungsten putty from Derby Monkey and Max V(Thanks to both) I finally got it to 5.0 oz
I will post pics later of her times when My other camera is done charging
And yes i did use the Silver Bullet for the canted axles not bad for just lining the bit with the axle slots( I need to get a laser trac someplace )

The Pictures of the car that was run are the top 2
The last pic is Amanda's Co2 car she had made in 7th grade all on her own in shop class, we will make the same car next year but will go thinner in the body now that we know what we can do
