Me and my daughters first race is now in the books! We got 2nd in her age group (and 1st was sooo close but just the better prepped car), thank you to all that answered other dads questions that I studied/lurked and learned from. This was the first race put on by the GS here, and it was super frustrating. We could only use the uncut block kit from Maximum Velocity, no other wheels or axles. And at check in, we were informed that 4 wheels needed to touch (not in the "official rules" we were given) but precut car bodies bought from the hobby shop and painted passed, as well as BSA wheels. You can guess how that went over! And to make it worse, dads put the cars together w/ 3 wheel rail runner setups, but didnt come to the race, so moms and kids had to scramble to get their cars to "touch". I watched as polished and bent axles were removed with hammers to shove in "stock" axles from the extra kits.
Quite the learning experience!! But we had a blast.
