Hello PWDO. I have to say I am amazed at how far pwd racing has come since I raced as a Scout ages ago. Last year our church's Awana program had their first annual Awana Grand Prix and so I got to do 2 cars with my then 8 yr old daughter and 5 yr old son. I watched what I thought was the craziest vid about the "secrets" to a fast car. I was shocked to hear about running on only 3 wheels and actually hugging the center track. WHAT?!?! Then this year gets here and I watch more vids and see how this is all actually common place for those who want to run with the big dogs. And of course I run into PWDO. Wow this is cool stuff. Now my son is a Cub Scout though he doesn't seem too into it other than the weekly "play date" with his bud who is in it too. Neither kid seems interested in doing it again next year. Funny thing is that the Scouts PWD race is the same day as the churhes Awana GP. He chose the churches gig since he has a lot more friends doing that which is cool since that also means he gets to race his sister. And I am heavily involved in our churches children's ministry and they have really committed to the AGP. We even boufght our own track set up so it looks like we'll be doing the GP every year. This year they allowed an open class for adults and non- Awana aged kids/teens. I will keep coming back here to see whats up and to keep at the top of our game.
Thanks to all those here who are passionate about PWD racing and share their secrets! Maybe I'll have to look to see if there are any leagues here in SE MI.
God bless and Race on!!!
Regards,
Jimmy
