Just wanted to get the first post thing out of the way and get my feet wet on this pretty cool forum.
You guys know a lot stuff and have some pretty innovative and just plain cool looking cars.

5 weeks ago I didn't even know racing pinewood derby cars was THAT big of thing, man was I wrong.
What got me started was my neighbor building a car for his kids scout race, and with only a week to go before the race he gives me a BSA kit.The deal was supposed to be,I'd race my car against his AFTER the cub scouts were done...but no,they throw my car in with all the little guys..man was I embarrassed!/images/boards/smilies/confused.gif
Now I'm hooked, wheels are turning with ideas, theory's and who knows what else !

A little bit about me,I live down south in the warmer part of Utah ,retired from Boeing about 13yrs.ago out in Cali. and play a LOT of golf.I also build golf clubs as a hobby,so I have quite a few tools in my basement shop that should work out good for PWD,drill press,mini-lathe,scroll saw, routers, belt sanders, time etc.
Well look forward to learning how to make a block of wood go fast and maybe getting the racing bug again.
Gravity wins!

Another Dixie man! Glad to have you here. I host a lot of races here in the St. George area. Let me know if you have any questions, or if you want to run your cars down a track.

Welcome aboard to one of the finest pinewood derby forums around. Sounds like you are well equipped to get started already. You will enjoy the people here. Most of all, have fun, it's addictive.
