Is anyone using a servo motor for the gate or lasers for the finish line ?
Was it a difficult upgrade ?

I guess it isnt made anymore so it cosrs 2x more then when we got it for our kid when he was little. It has a simple spring start and flipper finishline. Works fine for it's purpose of keeping the kids busy.

For myself,it is more of the overkill that I enjoyed. Taking plans for a arduino pinewood derby timer and making it his version. I think its the same one ive read other people use here.

Lasers at the finish line? What's wrong with the infrared sensors that the PDT already uses? I've been running mine for over two years now with no issues.
